PHILADELPHIA -- The Mount Holyoke College squash team finished the season on a winning note at the CSA Divisional Team Championships on Saturday, defeating Bard College 7-0 in a Walker Cup consolation match at the Arlen Specter U.S. Squash Center.

Under interim head coach Lauren Xaba, the Lyons finished the season with an 8-11 record, including a 6-3 mark over their final nine matches.

Teams ranked between 21st and 32nd nationally by the College Squash Association competed in the Walker Cup, including the Lyons and Raptors. Mount Holyoke's win was its third this season against Bard, all by shutout scores.

Senior Kyla Core (Philadelphia, Pa.) completed her Lyons career with a win in her hometown, defeating Meherin Hossain by a competitive 11-8, 11-8, 13-11 score.

Winning in straight sets were first-year Sachary Rodriguez Robles (Bronx, N.Y.) at No. 1; sophomore Tina Mei (Brooklyn, N.Y.) at No. 2; sophomore Amelia Arthur (Palo Alto, Calif.) at No. 5; sophomore Katherine Sloop (Houston, Texas) at No. 6; and first-year Claire Murray (Austin, Texas) at No. 7. First-year Lauren McCormick (Coopersburg, Pa.) prevailed in a 3-2 (11-9, 10-12, 11-7, 5-11, 11-8) decision over Mona Haidari in the fourth position for Mount Holyoke.
