Parakh debuts well at No. 1 as squash falls to William Smith at MIT

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke College squash team fell 9-0 to William Smith College on Sunday at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, taking on their first loss of the season. (BOX)

First-year Tagyaa Parakh (Kolkata, India) made her collegiate debut at the No. 1 position on the ladder for Mount Holyoke (1-1), and played the Lyons' most competitive match of the day, falling 3-1 (11-3, 11-5, 9-11, 11-1) to Rafaela Albuja. All other matches were decided by 3-0 scores, the most competitive being an 11-1, 11-7, 11-5 decision at No. 8 registered by William Smith's Tamia Rollaing over Mount Holyoke first-year Katherine Sloop (Houston, Texas).

Mount Holyoke returns to action on Saturday at Amherst College, facing the host Mammoths at 10am and Hamilton College at 3pm.
