CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke College squash team took on No. 24 nationally ranked Wesleyan University on Tuesday evening on neutral courts at MIT and fell 9-0 to the Cardinals, in the Lyons' first match since Dec. 2.
The match marked the collegiate debut of a pair of Lyons' first-year students in Lauren McCormick (Coopersburg, Pa.) and Claire Murray (Austin, Texas), who played at the eighth and ninth positions in Mount Holyoke's lineup. Sophomore Lara Gao (Wuhan, China) led the Lyons in points scored on the day with seven.
No. 31 Mount Holyoke (1-4) will travel to Yale University on Saturday, Jan. 20, to play Haverford at 2pm and Connecticut College at 3:30pm.
