Squash takes on Conn. College and Haverford at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Mount Holyoke College squash team traveled to Yale University on Saturday to play both Connecticut College and Haverford College on neutral courts, with the Lyons falling by 9-0 scores in both matches.

Senior Kyla Core (Philadelphia, Pa.) paced the Lyons (1-6) against Connecticut College with a strong match against Gwyneth Perez-Perez at the No. 4 position, taking Perez-Perez to a tiebreaker in the second game in an 11-4, 12-10, 11-4 decision. Sophomore Tina Mei (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 13 points over three games at the No. 3 position against Ainsley Ellison.

Against Haverford, sophomore Ku Paw (Hartford, Conn.) took the second game against Catherine Fortin in an eventual 11-8, 8-11, 11-3, 11-5 decision at the No. 2 position. Mei also played a close match, falling 11-9, 11-6, 11-6 to Emi Krishnamurthy at No. 3.

Mount Holyoke travels to Williamstown, Mass., on Sunday to face Williams College at 3pm.
