CANTON, N.Y. -- The Mount Holyoke College squash team defeated Bard College 8-0 on Sunday morning at St. Lawrence University, to conclude its first Liberty League Championships with a 2-1 record.
The Lyons (7-9) will move on to play in the College Squash Association Team Championships, taking place Friday through Sunday Feb. 16-18 in Philadelphia. Tournament brackets and matchups will be announced this week.
Mount Holyoke squash is a first-year member of the Liberty League, which in women's squash also includes William Smith College, St. Lawrence University, Denison University, Haverford College, Vassar College and Bard.
Fifth-seeded Mount Holyoke had no trouble downing seventh-seeded Bard by an 8-0 score on Sunday for the second time in two weeks, to register its fifth win in the past six matches. All eight contested matches were decided in three sets and in 20 minutes or less.
