CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The No. 31 nationally ranked Mount Holyoke College squash team met No. 19 Bates College on Friday evening on the neutral courts of MIT, with Bates prevailing by an 8-0 score.

While the Lyons (2-8) did not win a game against the Bobcats (6-8), the Lyons won points in all but two games on the night. Sophomore Ku Paw (Hartford, Conn.) led the way with nine points scored in an 11-5, 11-1, 11-4 loss to Navya Gupta at the No. 2 position on the ladder. First-year Baya Jaiswal (Vaishali, India) scored seven points against Sumairaa Suleman at No. 4, while sophomore Tina Mei (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and first-year Claire Murray (Austin, Texas) each scored six points at the second and eighth spots in the lineup, respectively.

Mount Holyoke has a big day in store for Saturday, with three teams visiting the MHC Squash Courts in Kendall Sports Complex. The Lyons will host Smith College at 9:30am, No. 30 Vassar College at 2:30pm, and Wellesley College at 5:30pm.
