BOSTON -- Competing at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday, Mount Holyoke College first-year Ioanna Tsoni broke her own school record in the 60-meter hurdles, while junior Kim Beaver moved up the team top-10 list with her personal-record time in the 800 meters.

Tsoni (Athens, Greece) topped a field of 26 competitors from all divisions, including runner-up Kiran George of Colgate, with her time of 9.12 seconds. That sliced 0.05 seconds off of the team record of 9.17 seconds that Tsoni set on Jan. 20 at Tufts.

Beaver (Agawam, Mass.) was one of 304 athletes running in the women's 800 at the meet, and finished in 2:25.03, beating her previous best time by 0.04 seconds. Beaver traded places with former teammate Devan Ravino '23 to move from ninth place to eighth on the program's all-time performance list.

The rest of the Lyons team compete Saturday starting at 11am at the Middlebury College Field and Track Meet.
