BOSTON -- Mount Holyoke junior Tessa Lancaster ran another big personal-best time to place seventh out of 31 competitors in the 5,000 meters Friday night at the NEICAAA Championships.

Lancaster (Mansfield, Mass.) finished the 5,000 in 17:45.28, lowering the PR she recorded at Middlebury three weeks ago by 12.48 seconds, to take seventh place among competitors from all three NCAA divisions. Lancaster ranked third among Division III runners in the race, which took place at The Track at New Balance. She ranks fourth on Mount Holyoke's all-time performance list in the 5K.

Mount Holyoke's second representative at the meet, first-year Ioanna Tsoni (Athens, Greece), competed in the long jump on Friday, placing 20th out of 24 competitors in the long jump with a top effort of 4.93 meters (16'2.25"). She set Mount Holyoke's record in the event earlier this season at 5.42 meters.

On Saturday morning, Tsoni ran the fourth-fastest time among Division III athletes in the preliminary heats of the 60 hurdles on Saturday morning, at 9.19 seconds. Tsoni was 16th-fastest among 32 athletes overall in the event.
