MEDFORD, Mass. -- Mount Holyoke first-year student-athlete Ioanna Tsoni shattered the Lyons' team record in the 60-meter hurdles and won the long jump Saturday at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational at Tufts University, highlighting an impressive day for the Lyons at the 13-team meet.

Tsoni (Athens, Greece) ran the 60 hurdles in a time of 9.17 seconds in Saturday's preliminary heats, slicing 0.24 seconds off of Mount Holyoke's team record. Tsoni finished the finals in the event in 9.21 seconds, placing second only to Tufts' Sarah Pillone (9.16) among 19 athletes. The Lyons' previous team record of 9.41 seconds was set by Isabelle Wohlin in 2017.
