WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Action at day one of the 2019 New England Division III Track & Field Championships concluded on Friday as three Mount Holyoke College student-athletes were in action. The event, which was hosted by Williams College, saw a number of strong efforts, including an Open New England qualification.

Senior Hannah Gershone competed in the 10000-meter race, finishing ninth overall with a time of 39:50.56. Her mark was not only an Open New England qualifying mark, but also saw her post outstanding splits. Through the open 5k of the event, she ran a 20:10, before notching a time of 19:40 over the final 5k.

In the long jump, junior Charleen Theroux was solid as well, earning a mark of 5.12 meters (16-10.00). For her efforts, she earned 10th overall, all while battling back from injury. Rounding out the efforts was sophomore Isabelle Wohlin, who posted a time of 16.75 in the 100-meter hurdles. Despite a strong effort, she did not make it into the qualifiers for Saturday's finals - placing 29th overall in the field.

Action at the NE D3 Meet continues on Saturday at 10am with the Lyons seeing Hannah Rieders and Madeline Rieders both competing, along with the 4x800 relay.
