Track and Field Produces Seventh-Best GPA in Division III; Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors

South Hadley, Mass. - August 15, 2019 - The Mount Holyoke College track and field program was honored for its hard work in the classroom, as the Lyons earned United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors, announced by the coaches organization earlier this summer.

The Lyons earned a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.68, which was the seventh-highest out of the 184 women's track and field programs that were recognized with the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award. Mount Holyoke College's GPA of 3.68 was improved upon the mark of 3.63 that the Lyons produced during the 2017-18 season.

For a team to be considered for this distinction, it must have produced a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale.

Of the six institutions that were ranked higher than the Lyons, three of them compete in the New England region, including Middlebury (3.74), MIT (3.70) and Tufts (3.75). MIT was the only team that competes in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) that had a higher cumulative team grade-point average than Mount Holyoke College.
