Field Hockey's Baldwin Collects NFHCA All-Region Honors

South Hadley, Mass. - December 1, 2021 - Senior midfielder Abby Baldwin (Florence, Mass.) has been recognized for her impressive 2021 campaign and was recently named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region Second Team, announced late last week.

Baldwin, who also earned New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference accolades following the 2021 season, becomes the 33rd student-athlete to earn All-Region honors under the direction of head field hockey coach, Andy Whitcomb. Addtionally, this marks the 51st All-Region accolade for the Mount Holyoke College field hockey program, all time.

A Psychology major at MHC, Baldwin was one of the most versatile midfielders in the conference during the 2021 season and started in 13 of the games that she played in this year. Baldwin finished the year with one goal and one assist for three points, including a marker against league rival Smith College on October 5. 

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
