Springfield, Mass. - October 7, 2021 - The Mount Holyoke College field hockey team dropped a non-conference decision to Western New England, 3-1, at Golden Bear Stadium on Thursday evening.

Mount Holyoke College got on the board first in the contest as Mollee Malboeuf (Fitchburg, Mass.) score her third goal in as many games with 3:14 to play in the first quarter. Prior to the goal, Margaret Robb (Summit, N.J.) kept the ball inbounds along the endline before curling to the front of the net and putting a shot on cage, which was blocked, but the ball deflected to the stick of Gracie Wilkinson (Amherst, Mass.), who made one more pass to Malboeuf for the easy point-blank finish.

The Golden Bears would even the score at one as time expired in the first half as Ali Larochelle fired a shot on cage which Katzenberg stopped, but the rebound went right to Emily Campbell who finished off the play for her fifth goal of the season.

Larochelle and Taylor Kelsyk would both find the back of the net in the second half as the Golden Bears escaped with the 3-1 victory.

Up next, Mount Holyoke College returns to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play and will travel to MIT on Saturday, October 9 at 1 p.m.
