Malboeuf and Abeja Earn Lyon of the Week Honors

South Hadley, Mass. - October 13, 2021 - Following impressive individual performances over the past two weeks, Mount Holyoke College's Mollee Malboeuf (Fitchburg, Mass.) of the field hockey team and Marion Abeja (Kumi, Uganda) of the volleyball team have been recognized as Lyons of the Week.

Malboeuf, a Sociology major and junior midfielder for the field hockey program, helped the Lyons to a 4-1 win over Clark in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play, as she poured in a pair of goals and added an assist in the victory. This performance brought Malboeuf's season point total to nine, as the Fitchburg, Mass. native has now collected four goals and a helper on the year.

Abeja, a junior Chemistry major at Mount Holyoke College, was dynamic in a pair of matches for the Lyons last week. On Tuesday against Coast Guard, Abeja registered four kills, seven assists, two service aces, eight digs and four block assists, before coming back on Friday against Western New England and producing seven kills to go along with six assists, four service aces and eight digs.
