South Hadley, Mass. - September 13, 2021 - Following impressive performances to start the 2021-22 academic year, senior Margaret Robb (Summit, N.J.) of the field hockey team and senior Chelsea Galicia (Altadena, Calif.) of the volleyball team have been named the Mount Holyoke College Athletics Lyons of the Week.
Robb, a senior midfielder at Mount Holyoke College, was selected for her performance at Roger Williams as the Neuroscience and Behavior major provided dynamic play and provided the Lyons solid footing for the 2021 season. This past Saturday, Robb continued her impressive start to the season and netted a pair of first-quarter goals in a 3-2 victory over Thomas College.
Galicia, a senior libero at Mount Holyoke College, was selected following a 2-1 week for the Lyons, as the Biology major collected 53 digs and nine service aces in three matches. Galicia started the week off with 22 digs and seven service aces in a three-set sweep of Anna Maria, before collecting 31 digs in two matches on Saturday. Playing just five matches thus far, Galicia currently ranks No. 2 in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) in digs per set (4.60) and No. 5 in total digs (92).
