SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke College volleyball team placed the maximum allowable number of four student-athletes on the CSC Academic Division III All-District Team, announced by College Sports Communicators, with junior Madeline Barton, senior Lucie Berclaz, junior Sadie Duffrin, and junior Amelia Ringor all earning the honor.
The 2024 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The award is given to athletes who in addition to being impactful on their respective team, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, and have achieved second year status at their academic institution.
Barton (Brookfield, Wis.) led Mount Holyoke's attack for the third straight year and raised both her kills per set average (3.66) and attack percentage (.169) for the second straight year. The psychology major ranked fourth in the NEWMAC in both points per set (4.23) and kills per set.
Berclaz (Hull, Mass.), is a biochemistry major and the the Lyons' two-year captain. In her second season as a starting outside hitter for the Lyons, the former libero averaged 2.62 kills per set, up from her 2023 average of 2.02.
Duffrin (Minneapolis, Minn.), an architectural studies major, joins Barton and Berclaz as a repeat CSC Academic All-District honoree. In her third season as the Lyons' starting setter, Duffrin raised her assists average for the third year in a row; she ranked fifth in the NEWMAC in assists per set (8.47).
Ringor (West Lafayette, Ind.) wins her first CSC Academic All-District honors. The biology major and defensive specialist ranked fourth on the Lyons with 2.64 digs per set.
