Diving Finishes Action at NCAA Regional Championships

Samantha Nemivant

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Mount Holyoke College diving team concluded action at the 2019 NCAA Division III Region 3 Championships, hosted by MIT. The event serves as the qualifier for Nationals.

The top seven qualifiers to the national championships will be assigned by alternating between the highest finisher on day one and the highest finisher on day two, considering that divers already invited will be skipped. This assures equal consideration is given to both boards. The NCAA will announce the qualifiers to this year's Nationals either Sunday or Monday.

Saturday's action saw junior captain Samantha Nemivant finish 12th overall on the 3-meter board, recording a score of 415.90 points. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native was 11th on Friday during the 1-meter event with a score of 408.00 points.

Sophomore Katie Kolozsvari, who hails from Danville, Ind., finished 19th in the 3-meter with a mark of 346.00 points. Friday's action saw the second-year diver take 19th on the 1-meter with 351.90 points.
