CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Mount Holyoke College diving team is in action this weekend, as two student-athletes are competing at the 2019 NCAA Division III Region 3 Championships. The event serves as the qualifier for Nationals.

The qualifiers to the national championships will be assigned by alternating between the highest finisher on day one and the highest finisher on day two, considering that divers already invited will be skipped. This assures equal consideration is given to both boards.

Day one on the 1-meter saw junior captain Samantha Nemivant, who hails from Scottsdale, Ariz., posted an 11-round score of 408.00 points, which put her 11th overall in the field. Sophomore Katie Kolozsvari, a Danville, Ind., native was 19th overall at her first regional event with a score of 351.90 points.

MIT's Deborah Wen won the event with a total score of 483.90 points. She was followed by Amherst's Lindsay Ruderman (471.90), teammate Blake Zhou (468.90), Amherst's Jacqueline Palermo (444.90 and MIT's Morgan Matranga (439.25) to round out the top five.
