Swimming & Diving Opens Action at 2019 NEWMAC Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. - Day one action at the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) swimming & diving championships got underway on Thursday evening. This year's event, which is being hosted by WPI, saw the Lyons open solid in the 800-meter relay.

MHC's A relay team of rookie Adrienne Corr, sophomore Riley Hicks, first year Gigi Picard and sophomore Ashton Bliss took 10th overall, touching the wall with a time of 8:35.04.

The Lyons also saw their B relay finish strong as the foursome of sophomore Naomi Brown, junior Natalie Burkett, sophomore Courtney Dunham and senior captain Delany Berry combined for 17th overall. The group posted a time of 8:37.34.

Action at this year's championships continue on Friday at 10am with the preliminary rounds. All finals and consolation action will begin at 6pm each night.
