WORCESTER, Mass. - Day two of action at the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) swimming and diving championships has concluded and through 14 events, Mount Holyoke College sits seventh overall. The Lyons, who have 146 points, were paced on the day by solid relay finishes as well as strong diving off the 1-meter board.

Junior Samantha Nemivant placed sixth overall in the 1-meter event, notching a score of 423.20 points. Rookie Kathryn Murphy was ninth overall, posting a score of 381.40 points, while sophomore Katie Kolozsvari took 11th with a score of 353.60 points.

In the 200-free relay, the foursome of sophomores Caitlyn Richmond, Naomi Brown, Courtney Dunham and Tamara Mukulu competed in the championship round. The group notched a time of 1:44.74 to earn ninth, while in the consolation final, sophomore Jacqueline Park, rookie Emma Sullivan, sophomore Riley Hicks and senior Kate Flaherty were 16th with a time of 1:47.30.

Sophomore Ashton Bliss was 36th in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:34.65, followed by Hicks in 40th with a time of 5:38.65. The 200-individual medley saw rookie Adrienne Corr finish 29th with a time of 2:20.11, while Park was right behind in 30th with a mark of 2:20.33. Mukulu went on to earn 30th in the 50-free, touching the wall in a time of 25.67.

Rounding out the night was the 400-medley relay as Park, Corr, Brown and Mukulu combined for a time of 4:15.54 to earn ninth in the championship final. In the consolation final, Dunham, Sullivan, Bliss and Hicks posted a score of 4:28.02 for 19th overall.

MIT currently leads the field with 469 points, followed by Wheaton in second with 305 points. Coast Guard sits third with 291 points, Springfield has 259 points for fourth, while Wellesley rounds out the top five with 249 points.
