NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Mount Holyoke College Lyons improved their record to 8-7 by defeating Connecticut College (1-5) 6-3 in a match played on the South Tennis Courts Saturday.
Sophomore Margaux Holloschutz (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) posted a 6-0, 6-3 victory at number three singles to lead the Lyons in the win. Junior Sarah Anischik (Tolland, Conn.) chipped in with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 victory at fourth singles.
Connecticut College sophomore Charlotte Marcoux (Sudbury, Mass.) secured a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at number one singles for the hosts. Adrienne Sieverding (Red Hook, N.Y.) contributed with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-2, triumph at second singles.
Seniors AnnElizabeth Konkel (Camp Hill, Pa.) and Eman Malik (Karachi, Pakistan) joined forces in an 8-3 victory at number one doubles for Mount Holyoke.
Marcoux and Ellie Rudd (Minneapolis, Minn.) registered an 8-6 win for the hosts at second doubles.
