Harvey Selected to Participate in NEWISA Senior Bowl

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Dec. 3, 2010) – Goalkeeper Elaine Harvey has been selected to represent Mount Holyoke College at the 2010 New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl. The contest is slated to take place tomorrow on the campus of Merrimack College at 2:30 p.m. It will feature seniors from all three NCAA divisions.

Harvey started 15 matches between the pipes for the Lyons this fall. In 1316 minutes played, she posted a goals against average of 3.62 and a save percentage of .741. She turned away 10 shots or more on nine occasions. Harvey was at her best in Mount Holyoke's 2-1 triumph over the Coast Guard Academy, when she came up with 13 saves to preserve the win (10/5). Her 18 stops in the Lyons' season finale at Springfield College were a season high.

Harvey was Mount Holyoke's featured goalkeeper over her three years with the program. Over the course of her career, she participated in 48 matches, making 46 starts. In 4,146 minutes played, she accumulated 410 saves. Harvey finished with a career goals against average of 2.95. She has posted eight wins and one shutout.

The Lyons closed out their 2010 campaign with an overall record of 1-14-1 and a league mark of 1-7-1. After tying Smith College 1-1 in their NEWMAC opener on September 18, they downed the Coast Guard Academy 2-1 on October 5.
