Both sides went scoreless until the 24:57 mark, when senior midfielder Lauren Hernley headed in a long pass from Park. Her 10th tally of the year proved to be the winner.

The Engineers then scored two more times over the next four minutes to put things out of reach. After using a Park feed to net her 13th goal of the season in the 28th minute, junior forward Alisha Lussiez set up sophomore midfielder Casandra Ceri with a cross from the right side in the 29th minute.

A goal by sophomore midfielder Alix de Monts in the 37th minute gave the hosts a 4-0 lead at the break.

They went on to tack on two more tallies in the second stanza. The first came from sophomore forward Emily Kuo, who scored her tenth goal of the fall off an assist from Park in the 62nd minute. Park then put in a penalty kick to cap things off in the 72nd minute.

MIT (12-2-0, 5-1-0 NEWMAC) finished with overwhelming advantages in both shots (31-5) and corner kicks (8-0). Sophomore goalkeeper Meghan Wright needed to make just one save to preserve her ninth shutout of the fall. Meanwhile, senior goalkeeper Elaine Harvey made 12 stops for Mount Holyoke.

The Lyons' lone shot on goal came from junior Margaret Hanmer. Junior midfielder Mary Cooke, sophomore midfielder Veronica Farmer, first year forward Katie Dupuis and sophomore midfielder Dara Ereshena also had shots for the guests.

Mount Holyoke (1-10-1, 1-4-1 NEWMAC) will return to the pitch on Tuesday, when it visits WPI for a NEWMAC tilt beginning at 7:00 p.m.
