SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. The Camels jumped out to a 1-0 edge in the 14th minute, when sophomore forward Ali McKeigue scored her second goal of the year. First year forward Jess Kharasch was credited with the assist on the play after she collected a bouncing throw in near the end line, turned and found a wide open McKeigue on the doorstep.

Mount Holyoke responded with the equalizer just over seven minutes later. After breaking past several Connecticut College defenders, junior midfielder Mary Cooke took a few steps into the box and slid a short crossing pass to senior forward Jacquelyn Archibald, who proceeded to finish the play with her second tally of the fall.

From there, both sides went scoreless until Palatino recorded the winner at the 52:56 mark. The goal was set up by senior defender Candice Clark, who drew Mount Holyoke goalkeeper Elaine Harvey off her line with a cross from the left side. After winning the battle for the loose ball, Palatino dribbled in uncontested and tapped a shot into the vacated net.

The Camels finished with advantages in shots (25-8) and corner kick opportunities (6-1). First year goalkeeper Lee Tsairis made three saves en route to her second win of the season. Meanwhile, Harvey stopped six shots for the Lyons.

Both squads are slated to resume their league schedules on Saturday. Mount Holyoke (1-9-1, 1-3-1 NEWMAC) will travel to MIT for a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest beginning at 1:00 p.m. Meanwhile, Connecticut College (4-3-2, 0-3-2 NESCAC) will host New England Small Conference Athletic Conference (NESCAC) foe Middlebury College at 11:00 a.m.
