Methsarani Wins Consolation Finals at CSA Individual National Championships

Philadelphia, Pa. - March 8, 2020 - After falling in her opening match of the tournament, standout sophomore Mihiliya Methsarani (Panadura, Sri Lanka) battled all the way back, winning three-consecutive matches to win the consolation finals on Sunday morning.

At season's end, Methsarani finished with an overall record of 19-5.

It took four games for Methsarani to knock off Sydney Maxwell of Virginia, as the sophomore won the first game 11-5, before controlling a two-game lead with an 11-2 win in the next game. Maxwell won the third game, 16-14, before Methsarani delivered an 11-7 win to close out the bout.
