Seventh-Seeded Boston College Downs No. 3 Squash, 7-2, at CSA Team National Championships

New Haven, Conn. - February 22, 2020 - The Mount Holyoke College squash team dropped a 7-2 decision to Boston College at the in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Championships, hosted at Yale University's Brady Squash Center on Saturday afternoon. Following a loss to No. 6 Georgetown on Friday evening, the Lyons squared off with the Eagles in the consolation bracket of the Epps Cup.

Standout sophomore Mihiliya Methsarani (Panadura, Sri Lanka) delivered a three-game win at No. 1, defeating Samantha Stevenson 11-2, 11-4, 11-5 and Kuzivakwashe Madungwe (Harare, Zimbabwe) won at No. 3, besting Kate Setteducate 11-6, 3-11, 11-4, 11-8.

At No. 2, Jennifer Mbah (Jamaica Plain, Mass.) had a tough battle at No. 2, but fell to Sabrina Didizian in four games, while Giselle Cabrera (Bronx, N.Y.) lost to Caroline Kacha in three games at No. 4. At No. 5, Genesis Lara Granados (Bronx, N.Y.) was able to win the first game but eventually suffered a 3-1 setback to Lulu Berner, while at No. 6, Emma Robson (Amherst, Mass.) lost in three games to Alexa Settaducate. 

Wrapping up at No. 7, Nicole Lara Granados (Bronx, N.Y.) dropped a four-game decision to Claire Bergman, Janiqua Davis (New Haven, Conn.) lost to Kelli Mactaggart in three, and Anna Braman (Wellesley, Mass.) won the first against Abigail Arturi, but lost the next three to close out the match.

The Lyons would take on Bucknell on Sunday morning and despite wins from Robson, Nicole Lara Granados and Xu, the Lyons dropped a 6-3 decision.
