Methsarani Opens Play at CSA Individual National Championships

Philadelphia, Pa. - March 6, 2020 - Sophomore Mihiliya Methsarani (Panadura, Sri Lanka) of the Mount Holyoke College squash team opened competition at the 2020 College Squash Association (CSA) Individual National Championships, hosted at the University of Pennsylvania on Friday.

Methsarani opened the tournament with a contest versus Jane Pincus of Columbia, where she fell in three games by the scores of 15-13, 11-4, 11-7. Heading to the consolation quarterfinals, the sophomore rebounded with a four-game win over Sanna Koivumaki of St. Lawrence, where Methsarani prevailed by the scores of 11-3, 4-11, 11-1, 11-3.

On Saturday, Methsarani will compete in the consolation semifinals of the Holleran B South Division and will take on Yale's Gigi Yeung at 11:05 a.m.
