Coklow To Make Third NCAA Championship Appearance

OFFICIAL PARTICIPATION LIST

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The NCAA has announced the participant field for the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships and Mount Holyoke College student-athlete Camille Coklow is among those that qualified in the 100-meter dash.  The championships, which begin Thursday and run through Saturday, will be held at Merrick-Pinkard Track & Field Complex on the campus of St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.

This is the third straight appearance at the Outdoor National Championships for the former Latin School of Chicago standout. Coklow, who is a native of Chicago, Ill., represented the Lyons in both 2013 and 2014 in the 100-dash.

Coklow is one of 22 to participate in the 100-meter dash. Her qualifying time of 12.06 has her ranked 20th in the field. She posted her qualifying time during the finals at the ECAC Championships, where she finished first to capture her second ECAC title of 2015. Coklow was victorious in the 60-meter dash during the indoor campaign.

It has been another outstanding season for Coklow, who has recorded five victories in the 100-dash during this outdoor season. She won the event in the season-opening meet at Fitchburg (12.74) and was then victorious at Smith (12.19). Coklow then won at the Aloha Relays (12.82) and went on to capture her second straight NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honor with a NEWMAC Championship victory time of 12.12.

After finishing ninth at the Open New England meet (12.22), Coklow posted her fifth victory at the ECAC Championships, sealing her third bid to Nationals.

Last season, Coklow posted three victories in the 100-dash, winning at the Aloha Relays and claiming her first NEWMAC title and All-Conference honor. She then captured victory at the New England Division III Championships with a then-season's best time of 12.31. Coklow concluded her sophomore season at Nationals, placing ninth in Division III.

As a first year, Coklow became the first rookie to represent the Lyons at both the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships. She recorded first-place finishes in the 100-meter dash at the American International Invitational, the Aloha Relays and the New England Division III Championships.

Additionally, Coklow eclipsed the school record in the 100m-dash three times in 2013 and remains the all-time record holder with a time of 11.93. The previous record had been held since 1993 by Cheryl Daley, who was Mount Holyoke's first track & field National All-American.

The 100-meter dash is scheduled for Friday at 6:15pm, while the finals will take place on Saturday at 2:35pm. The top nine finishers in the preliminaries advance to the finals, while the top-eight competitors earn All-America in each event.
