Coklow Concludes Season at National Championships

CANTON, N.Y. – Junior sprinter Camille Coklow was in action at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, finishing well in her signature event. The meet, which is being held at the Merrick-Pinkard Track & Field Complex at St. Lawrence University, saw her finish 19th overall in the 100-meter dash.

The Chicago, Ill., native recorded a time of 12.55 in her event, which was good for 19th overall in the field of 22 athletes. It was the third straight appearance at the Outdoor National Championships for Coklow, who represented the Lyons in both 2013 and 2014 in the 100-dash.

Coklow  qualified for Nationals with a time of 12.06, which she posted during the finals at the ECAC Championships. In that event, she finished first to capture her second ECAC title of 2015. Coklow was victorious in the 60-meter dash during the indoor campaign.

It was another outstanding season for Coklow, who recorded five victories in the 100-dash during the outdoor season. She won the event in the season-opening meet at Fitchburg (12.74) and was then victorious at Smith (12.19). Coklow then won at the Aloha Relays (12.82) and went on to capture her second straight NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honor with a NEWMAC Championship victory time of 12.12.

After finishing ninth at the Open New England meet (12.22), Coklow posted her fifth victory at the ECAC Championships, sealing her third bid to Nationals.

Last season, Coklow posted three victories in the 100-dash, winning at the Aloha Relays and claiming her first NEWMAC title and All-Conference honor. She then captured victory at the New England Division III Championships with a then-season's best time of 12.31. Coklow concluded her sophomore season at Nationals, placing ninth in Division III.

As a first year, Coklow became the first rookie to represent the Lyons at both the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships. She recorded first-place finishes in the 100-meter dash at the American International Invitational, the Aloha Relays and the New England Division III Championships.

Additionally, Coklow eclipsed the school record in the 100m-dash three times in 2013 and remains the all-time record holder with a time of 11.93. The previous record had been held since 1993 by Cheryl Daley, who was Mount Holyoke's first track & field National All-American.
