Track & Field Finishes Well at New England Division III Championships

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - It was a solid afternoon of competition on Saturday as te Mount Holyoke College track and field team competed at the 2015 New England Division III Championships, hosted by Smith College. The Lyons finished 22nd overall, highlighted by several strong performances.

Leading the way was junior Camille Coklow, who finished third overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.84. Coklow also qualified for the Open New England Championships, notching a blistering 7.77 time in the preliminaries. She is now eighth in the nation in her event.

Classmate Elizabeth DeLeon also had a solid afternoon, finishing 12th overall in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:06.70. That mark was also an ECAC Indoor Qualifying mark. Also in the 1000 event was sophomore Brianna Weir, who was 19th overall with a time of 3:09.85.

Senior Dana Fry ran to 17th overall in the gruelling 5,000 meter run, recording a time of 18:57.90, while the Lyons' 4x800 meter relay team was 14th overall with a finish time of 10:05.35.

Select members of the Lyons' squad return to action next Friday and Saturday, competing at the Open New England Championships in Boston.
