SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- The American Swimming Coaches Association has awarded Mount Holyoke assistant swim coach Kevin Walker an ASCA 30 Under 30 grant to attend the ASCA World Clinic, taking place Sept. 2-5 in Reno, Nevada.

"When I heard about this opportunity I jumped on it," said Walker. "I am always looking for different ways to improve as a coach, and I am excited for this opportunity."

The ASCA World Clinic is billed as "an extraordinary event where every type of coach - across every level - comes together to learn from the best, exchange ideas, and push the boundaries of swimming excellence. From game-changing insights to hands-on demonstrations and unmatched networking opportunities, the 2025 ASCA World Clinic is designed to inspire, educate, and elevate your coaching."

"I hope to gain a better understanding of how top coaches plan their seasons and what I can take from their knowledge to help my program," Walker said. "Also, I want to dive deeper into stroke mechanics, recovery techniques, and injury prevention to promote long-term athlete health."

Currently in his first year as the Lyons swimming and diving program's first full-time assistant coach, Walker's selection for the grant underscores the great value he brings to the program.

"We are thrilled to see Kevin receiving the ASCA 30 under 30 Grant," said head coach Dave Allen. "Kevin has been with the program for the last 9 months and during that time has shown an interest in learning and growing as a coach. He is inquisitive and open to suggestions and learning opportunities. Kevin is going to take full advantage of this ASCA Grant and I am looking forward to the knowledge he brings back to the team next season."
