Schneider, 200 free relay win in final dual meet at Smith

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke swimming and diving team competed in its final dual meet of the season Saturday at Smith College, with the host Pioneers winning the team score 195-98.

Top performances from Mount Holyoke included:

  • Sophomore Isabel Dunn (Harbor Springs, Mich.) was a part of the MHC's second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (2:00.23). Dunn also placed second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.14), and first in the 400-yard individual medley, posting a season-best time (4:53.37).
  • Junior Sophie Allen (Lopez Island, Wash.) swam freestyle in the 200 medley relay, placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:06.31), and led off the 200-yard freestyle relay that placed first overall, in 1:47.06.
  • Senior Hannah Heierhoff (Wiesbaden, Germany) placed second in both the 200 yard butterfly (2:27.91) and the 500 freestyle (5:50.07).
  • First-year Katherine Upton (Cambridge, Mass.) placed second in 1-meter diving (187.06 points).
  • Senior Megan Schneider (Newton, Mass.) placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (26.43), swam the breaststroke leg in the 200 yard medley relay, and anchored the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Lyons will compete next at the four-dy NEWMAC Championships meet starting on Thursday, February 20th at WPI.
