Golf Currently 3rd at Wellesley's Batchelder Invitational

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Day one of action at the Ann S. Batchelder Invitational, hosted by Wellesley College, is in the books and through the opening round, the Mount Holyoke College golf team sits third of the nine competing teams.

Pacing the way on day one was sophomore June Conti (Amenia, N.Y./Miss Porter's School), who leads the field with a score of 75 in the opening round. Classmate Heeamin Lee (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Brookline) posted a first round score of 81.

Captains Madi Mendiola (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) and Allison Shilling (New Canaan, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) each recorded an opening round score of 85, while sophomore  Kelly McElreath had a score of 101.

Leading the field after day one is Williams College,

Leading the field after day one is Williams College, who recorded a combined score of 321 to open play. NYU is second with a mark of 325, while Mount Holyoke has a combined score of 326. Middlebury (337) and Amherst (351) round out the top five.

Action concludes at this year's invite on Sunday.
