Golf Currently 4th After Day 1 at Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Day one of action at the Middlebury Invitational is in the books and through the opening round, the Mount Holyoke College golf team sits fourth of the 11 competing teams. Pacing the way on day one was sophomore captain Allison Shilling, who sits in a tie for seventh overall.

Shilling posted an opening round score of 79 for the Lyons, who compiled a score of 335 on day one. Senior captain Madi Mendiola is close behind in ninth with a score of 80, while sophomore June Conti is currently 21st overall with a score of 86.

Sophomore Amanda Lee sits 30th overall with a score of 90, while classmate Kelly McElreath is 39th currently with a score of 94. Individually for the Lyons, sophomore Heaamin Lee is tied for 17th with a score of 84.

Leading the field after day one is Williams College, whose own Sarah Hasselman is the top individual in the field with a score of 72. Overall, the Ephs posted a score of 307. The host Panthers are second overall with a score of 327, while Amherst (334) is one stroke ahead of MHC (335) heading into day two.

Action concludes at this year's invite on Sunday.
