HARTFORD, Conn. (Nov. 16, 2012) - Multiple victories paved the way for Mount Holyoke College on Friday as the Lyons defeated Trinity College, 120-114. Leading the way for MHC was first year Cathleen Pruden, who re-set the record in the 1000-freestyle, which she had set earlier this season. With the victory, the Lyons improve to 2-1 in dual meets this season.

Pruden won the 1000-free with a time of 10:43.36, just eclipsing her time of 10:43.37 which she set in the dual meet win at Westfield State. She also won the 100-individual medley with a Trinity pool record time of 1:03.34, while also posting victory in the 500-free with a mark of 5:20.08.

Also having an outstanding effort in the evening meet was junior Lauren Williams, who helped the 400-medley relay team to victory in a time of 4:14.34. She also won the 100-backstroke with a time of 1:05.03, while finishing second in the 50-free with a time of 26.19.

Other members of the 400-medley relay included sophomore Maya Lazarovich, first year Bethany Aban and sophomore Rachel Boynton.

Aban posted an individual win in the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:01.66, while senior captain Nora Cunningham won the 50-free with a time of 25.98.

The Lyons are back in the pool on Saturday when they host Western Connecticut State at the MHC Natatorium at 1pm.
