SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke College soccer team was limited to one shot, and first-year goalkeeper Clarissa Govea's 11 saves weren't enough to stop a 6-0 defeat at Springfield College on Saturday afternoon, in the NEWMAC opener for both teams.

Govea (Pico Rivera, Calif.) faced 17 shots on goal and stopped 11, her second-most saves this season, as the host Pride (3-2, 1-0 NEWMAC) outshot the visiting Lyons (1-4, 0-1 NEWMAC) by a 27-1 margin.

Senior captain Sarah Forster (Worcester, Mass.) returned to action and registered the Lyons' lone shot.

Kaitlyn Sutter scored a pair of goals for Springfield. Kaleigh Dale led off the scoring in the 15th minute, and Meredith Healy, Mirabel Brunell and Taylor Gibson all added goals for the hosts.

Mount Holyoke will host Emmanuel College in a non-conference game Thursday at 5pm.
