Three Tabbed to Liberty League All-Academic Team

TROY, N.Y. - The Liberty League has announced its All-Academic honors for women's golf and three Mount Holyoke College student-athletes have been recognized. It marks the third straight academic honor for seniors June Conti, Heeamin Lee and Allison Shilling.

A captain from Amenia, N.Y., Conti posted a 82.63 scoring average over 16 rounds of golf during the 2016-17 campaign. Participating in eight tournaments, she had a 10.63 average vs. par and recorded a number of solid efforts throughout the season. Highlighting her senior year was a ninth-place finish at the MHC Invitational in late September.

For her career, the former Miss Porter's School graduate posted an 82.06 scoring average over 63 total rounds. She played in 32 tournaments with her highest finish coming at the 2015 Liberty League Championships, where she finished in a tie for second overall, earning All-Liberty League First Team honors. Conti was a three-time All-League First Team selection and the 2014 Rookie of the Year. She was also recently honored with an Arthur Ashe Jr., Sports-Scholar Award for 2017.

Lee, who hails from Chestnut Hill, Mass., recorded a 92.13 scoring average over 8.0 rounds in 2016-17. Playing in four tournaments, she posted her best finish at the 2017 Liberty League Championships, placing 20th overall.

A former Brookline graduate, Lee owned an 87.73 scoring average in her Lyons career, playing in 51.0 rounds. Appearing in 26 tournaments, she saw her highest finish come during the 2014 Liberty League Championships as she earned All-League First Team honors with a fifth-place finish, helping MHC to the championship crown.

Rounding out this year's academic honors was Shilling, a captain from New Canaan, Conn., who posted a 82.38 scoring average over 16.0 rounds this season. Appearing in eight tournaments, she posted her best mark of the season at the conference championships, finishing sixth overall to earn All-League Second Team honors.

Shilling, who is a former standout at Choate Rosemary Hall, played in 63.0 career rounds with an 85.25 scoring average. Over 32 career appearances, her highest finish came in 2016 at the Liberty League Championships. Finishing fourth overall, she earned All-League First Team honors. Shilling earned All-League recognition in each of her four years. She was also captain of the MHC squash team, playing all four years of her career.

Mount Holyoke finished sixth or better at seven of the eight meets it competed in 2016-17. The Lyons posted runner-up at the 2017 Liberty League Championships.
