Golf Sits 3rd After First Round of NYU Invitational

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - It was an outstanding day of opening round action for the Mount Holyoke College golf team, which currently sits third of nine teams at the New York University Invitational. The Lyons posted a combined 332 in the First Round, trailing Williams (321) and Amherst (328).

Leading the Lyons in the opening round was first year Susan Lee, who is tied for ninth overall with a score of 81. Senior captain June Conti is 14th overall, shooting an 83, while first year Stephanie Spitzer and senior captain Allison Shilling are tied for 17th with a first round score of 84.

Rounding out the team action was first year Elizabeth Andrian, who recorded a 92 on the day, which puts her 40th overall. Individually for the Lyons, senior Heeamin Lee is 40th as well, posting a 92, while first year Madi Gale is 56th with an opening round score of 115.

The Ephs lead the action, followed by Amherst and MHC. Carnegie Mellon is close behind in fourth with a score of 334, followed by the host Violets, who notched a 339 in the opening round.

NYU's Alyssa Poentis is the overall individual leader after the First Round, shooting a 77 on Saturday.

Action at the NYU Invitational concludes on Sunday, beginning at 8:30am.
