THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke closes out its 2011-12 campaign versus NEWMAC foe Wheaton College Saturday afternoon (1:00 p.m.) at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium. The Lyons fell 55-42 in the first meeting of the season between the teams on January 7. They were paced by guard Christine Chancy, who netted 10 points. Fellow guard Angelica Pascual recorded nine points, four steals and three assists, while forward Amber Legare posted eight points and six rebounds. Forward Abbie Brickley racked up 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists to set the tone for the hosts. Wheaton is still battling for the sixth and final spot in next week's NEWMAC Tournament.

SENIOR DAY: Prior to the match, a senior day celebration will take place to honor Christine Chancy and Tricia Chase for their contributions to the program over the last four seasons.

MHC Logo MOUNT HOLYOKE: Mount Holyoke (6-17, 4-13 NEWMAC) has been hot of late, winning three of its last four contests. The Lyons used a balanced scoring attack to top Springfield College 64-53 on Wednesday. They took control of the game with a 22-4 in the middle stages of the first half and never looked back. Forward Amber Legare has made an immediate impact on the program with her outstanding play in the post. In addition to recording 9.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per outing, she has also racked up 37 blocked shots. Guard Angelica Pascual leads the team with 11.6 points per game. Meanwhile, Jasmine Brown has dished out 65 assists from the point. Mount Holyoke has also received solid production from forward Tricia Chase and guard Christine Chancy.

Opponent Logo WHEATON: Wheaton (12-11, 8-8 NEWMAC) kept its NEWMAC Tournament hopes alive with a 56-46 victory over MIT on Wednesday. In the process, the Lyons put the brakes on a five-game losing streak and eliminated the Engineers from postseason contention. Guard Nicole Cullinane knocked down five three-pointers to lead the way. Forward Abbie Brickley has averaged 11.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game to set the tone for Wheaton. The Lyons have also received a boost from forward Gabbie DePalo, who has registered 8.0 points and 7.0 boards per outing. Cullinane has netted 34 shots from beyond the arc en route to 7.6 points per game. Meanwhile, newcomer Kenzie Kuhn has racked up 86 assists and 36 steals.
