THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke gets the second half of its NEWMAC schedule underway with a home game against Wellesley College Saturday afternoon (1:00 p.m.) at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium. The Lyons suffered a 59-39 setback when the two teams met earlier this month. They were paced by guard Angelica Pascual, who finished with 11 points. Forward Amber Legare also enjoyed a solid night, pulling down 12 rebounds. On the other side, four players reached double digits in the scoring column for the Blue. THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (3-12, 1-8 NEWMAC) picked up its first NEWMAC victory of the year last Saturday, defeating the Coast Guard Academy 63-51. The Lyons were paced by guard Angelica Pascual, who poured in a season-best 23 points. In addition to averaging 12.4 points per game, the captain has also chipped in with 27 assists and 18 steals. She has drained 18 shots from beyond the arc. Fellow guards Christine Chancy and Annabel Barrett have recorded 9.0 points per game. Meanwhile, forward Amber Legare has made an immediate impact on the program with 8.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per outing. Her 20 blocked shots are good for tops on the team. Guard Jasmine Brown has dished out 34 assists to set the tone for Mount Holyoke's offense.

THE BLUE: Wellesley (7-7, 6-3 NEWMAC) has been hot of late, winning four of its last five contests. The Blue currently sit in a four-way tie for second place in the NEWMAC standings thanks to a balanced offensive attack and solid defense. They have been paced by newcomer Morgyne Weaver, who has knocked down 47.1% (56-119) of her shots from the floor en route to 10.9 points per game. Guard Leslie Leong has delivered 10.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per outing to go with 36 assists. Meanwhile, Malia Maier has knocked down 19 shots from beyond the arc en route to 9.1 points per game. The guard currently leads the conference with 59 assists and 66 steals. Forward Ashleigh Sargent has chipped in with 8.6 points per contest. 

NEXT UP: Both squads will resume their NEWMAC schedules with home games on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Mount Holyoke will entertain longtime rival Smith College, while Wellesley will host MIT.
