THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke hosts NEWMAC foe Springfield College tomorrow evening (7:00 p.m.) at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium. The Lyons suffered a 66-57 setback to the Pride on January 18 despite 16 points from Angelica Pascual. After closing the gap to 44-43 midway through the second half, they surrendered eight straight points and never recovered. Pascual was joined in double figures by Christine Chancy and Amber Legare. Chancy finished with 14 points, while Legare chipped in with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Kelly Slattery paced Springfield with 19 points and eight boards.

MHC Logo THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (5-17, 3-13 NEWMAC) completed the season sweep of the Coast Guard Academy on Saturday, winning by a score of 59-57. Forward Amber Legare set the tone for the Lyons with career highs of 21 points and four blocked shots. The rookie has made an immediate impact on the program this season, averaging 9.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game to go with 35 blocks and 33 steals. Guard Angelica Pascual has knocked down 30 shots from beyond the arc en route to 11.8 points per game. Meanwhile, forward Tricia Chase has chipped in with 5.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per outing. Mount Holyoke has also received solid production from guards Christine Chancy and Annabel Barrett, who have delivered 8.0 points per game.

Opponent Logo THE PRIDE: Springfield (12-11, 8-8 NEWMAC) has dropped three of its last four contests, including a heartbreaking 51-50 setback to MIT on Saturday. The Pride currently sit alone in fifth place in the NEWMAC standings thanks to outstanding all-around production from forward Kelly Slattery. In addition to piling up 13.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, the senior has amassed 20 blocked shots. Guard Kelly Murphy has recorded 8.0 points per game, Meanwhile, Meghan Biondolillo has netted 33 three-pointers on her way to 7.7 points per game. The Pride have also received a boost from forward Jaimie Bickelhaupt, who has chipped in with 6.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per outing. Guard Andrea Butler has collected 98 steals and 87 assists.  

NEXT UP: Both squads are slated to close out their regular seasons on Saturday. Mount Holyoke will host Wheaton College at 1:00 p.m., while Springfield will visit nationally-ranked Babson at 2:00 p.m.
