Three Mount Holyoke College Student-Athletes Selected to Attend NCAA Career in Sports Forum May 26-28

Indianapolis, Ind. - May 13, 2021 - Mount Holyoke College will have three of its student-athletes attending the 2021 NCAA Career in Sports Forum, which will be held virtually from May 26 through May 28. The NCAA announced that it will once again hold this year's forum in a virtual format.

Selected by a committee from within the NCAA membership to attend, Sydney Nash (New Hartford, Conn.) and Sophia Anderson (Morrisville, Vt.) from the cross country and track and field programs and Allie Brown (Burlington, Vt.) from the lacrosse program will all represent Mount Holyoke College in late May.

This is the second-straight year that Mount Holyoke College has had at least three student-athletes represent the Lyons at the NCAA Career in Sports Forum. Additionally, Anderson was one of two Mount Holyoke College student-athletes selected to attend the NCAA Student Immersion Program, which was held in conjunction with the NCAA Convention this past January.

"The Career in Sports Forum is a fantastic opportunity and once again all nominated Mount Holyoke student-athletes were accepted into the program," said interim Director of Athletics Erica Lemm. "I'm excited for our three outstanding student-athlete leaders to explore working in collegiate athletics and be inspired by the unifying power of sport and their career possibilities. The future is bright for these individuals which also brings hope for the strength of our industry."

The forum brings together participants who expressed an interest in pursuing a career in sports, and who were viewed as leaders on their campus. They were invited to apply to attend the forum after a nomination by athletics administrators at their respective schools.  This unique virtual programming experience will help student-athletes chart their career paths, while presenting copious opportunities for attendees to learn from current industry leaders.

Notable speakers will cover the following topics and more to prepare attendees for success navigating their futures: self-awareness and its role in professional development; practical approaches to the sports job search; personal branding; developing a career plan; managing yourself as a professional in the sports industry. Through online panels, engaging breakout sessions, keynote presentations and facilitated discussions, program participants will complete their experience with a thorough understanding of athletics as a career path and where they fit into the industry's landscape.
