Brockport, N.Y. - April 8, 2021 - The Mount Holyoke College field hockey team was recently honored for their hard work in the classroom as the Lyons garnered the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Team Award.
The Division III National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.
Additionally, 13 Mount Holyoke College student-athletes were named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.
The 13 members of the field hockey program that were recognized include Emma Bowler (Worcester, Mass.), Chelsea Braz (Coventry, Conn.), Mirei Golding-Powers (San Francisco, Calif.), Andreana Hardin (Pittsburg, Penn.), Julia Klein (West Hartford, Conn.), Kass Lawrence (Holyoke, Mass.), Christina Lively (Rowe, Mass.), Mollee Malboeuf (Fitchburg, Mass.), Maddie Miller (Marblehead, Mass.), Gianna Molinari (Windsor Locks, Conn.), Leah Pendl-Robinson (Branford, Conn.), Kate Perrin (Spofford N.H.), and Caroline Thompson (Harwich, Mass.).
Three seniors, Braz, Lively, and Miller, have now collected National Academic Squad recognition for all four years they have been on campus. Additionally, Bowler was among over 450 student-athletes nationwide to be listed as an NFHCA Division III Scholar of Distinction for the second year in a row. The Division III Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.
