What made you choose Mount Holyoke College?
One of the main reasons I chose to come to Mount Holyoke was that my older sister was a student here and absolutely loved it. I didn't want to deal with the whole college search process, so I chose Mount Holyoke and gladly accepted my second child discount. Good thing I did, because I love it here!
What is your most memorable moment as a NEWMAC student-athlete?
My most memorable moment was when we got to play Smith College right before being sent home due to COVID. Like everyone else, we were devastated by the loss of our season, but saw this game as an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our seniors and leave everything out on the field. We played one of our best games ever and grew so much as a team.

What do you enjoy most about being a Division III student-athlete?

Being a student athlete has taught me so many life lessons that extend beyond the field. As a teammate and captain, I've learned how to maintain and foster an environment of inclusivity and how to effectively communicate with a variety of different personalities. It has also strengthened my work ethic and helped me to improve my mental toughness, skills I know I'll take with me into my future career and endeavors. Overall though, what I most enjoy is being part of a built in family and getting to spend every day with my best friends.

Do you have a favorite event or matchup with a fellow NEWMAC institution that you always look forward to every year?
I look forward to every game, no matter the opponent!

Can you give us a brief description of your major and why you chose it?
Before declaring my major I had taken a class in just about every subject, from criminology and anthropology to economics and geography. I ended up choosing to major in politics and get a minor in sociology because the deadline to declare was fast approaching and I needed to put something down! In the end it worked out because I've really enjoyed all of my classes and have gotten the opportunity to learn from a number of incredible professors.

Do you have any future plans?
This summer I plan on going back home to Burlington, VT, where I've worked as a waitress at a popular restaurant called The Spot on the Dock for the last couple of years. It'll be my last summer before having to graduate so I'm looking forward to enjoying Vermont's beauty and making good money off of Canadian tourists. I'm also training for a half ironman that's happening towards the end of the summer so I'm excited to ramp up my training.

Are you a part of any groups/clubs on campus?
I work at Mount Holyoke's Office of Admissions as a tour guide and at our athletic facility's information desk. Working two jobs and being a student-athlete has definitely kept me busy.

Any additional information?
When I was in middle school, my family and I lived in Ecuador. It was the most incredible experience, not just because we got to explore the most biodiverse country in the world, but because we got to take on all of the challenges that come with living in a foreign country together as a family. We also ended up adopting a dog down there and got to bring him back home to VT!
