Aslin last competed in early March of 2020, taking part in the C.R.A.S.H.-B. Erg Sprints and posting a time of 8:36.9 in the women under-23 section.

From Head Mount Holyoke Rowing Coach Seth Hussey

"Molly walked on to our program as a first-year novice and her grit and determination quickly shone through. Over the past four years we've really benefitted from Molly's steady contribution. Her work in the classroom and physics lab have been exemplary and we are proud to count her among our young alums."

More about Molly...

Overall, share a few sentences about your time as a student-athlete at Mount Holyoke College. How has your experience as a student-athlete help develop you into the person you are today?

I walked onto the Mount Holyoke rowing team as a novice rower my first year.  I remember it was kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision to go to the rowing information meeting, and after my first race I was hooked. My experience as a student athlete made me much more confident in what I can do.  Rowing has taught me how to trust in what I know.  I know how to take a stroke, so even when it's cold and rainy and the waves are splashing up onto me, I know that I can finish the race.

What were some of your favorite memories as a member of the rowing team?

My favorite memories have to be breakfasts with the team every day after practice.  It was always such a fun time to get to know my teammates better and to have a nice break before classes would start.

What are your plans following graduation?

Right now I'm applying to graduate school for a PhD in experimental plasma physics.  I hope to eventually work as a research scientist in a lab somewhere.

Who have been some of your biggest supporters during your time at Mount Holyoke College? This can be anyone (i.e. family, friends, professors, coaches, etc.)

My teammates were some of my biggest supporters.  Without fail they would always be there for me whenever I needed help or advice. The MHC physics department has also been wonderful.  My classmates there are so welcoming and collaborative, and they made difficult classes feel easy when we would work together.

What is your favorite Mount Holyoke tradition?

I really love Convocation.  It's always so much fun to dress up and catch up with friends that I haven't been able to see over the summer!

Any words of advice you have for the future student-athletes of Mount Holyoke College?

Remember to cherish the time you have with your friends and your teammates.  I think I always took my senior year for granted and assumed that I would always have more time with my friends, which ended up not being the case.
