SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Mount Holyoke College Director of Athletics Lori Hendricks has announced the hiring of Erica Lemm as the new Associate Director of Athletics, Programming and Senior Lecturer in Physical Education and Athletics. A former associate director at Earlham College, she will begin her new role at MHC on May 1.

As the Associate Director, Lemm will be responsible for oversight of student-athlete leadership development and programming; compliance and eligibility; admissions, recruiting and retention; Title IX; and campus relations. Additionally, she will work in close collaboration with student-athletes, coaches, the faculty athletics representative and class deans, as well as other key constituents on campus and throughout the region.
As a member of Earlham College, Lemm played a key role as both the Associate Director of Athletics and the Senior Woman Administrator. In addition to being the department's compliance office, she served as the hiring manager and the SAAC advisor during her tenure. Lemm was also responsible for academic oversight, student-athlete development and Title IX assessment.
Among Lemm's many accomplishments at Earlham included convening the 'Return to Learn' Committee, which established a procedure for cross-campus communication and returning student-athletes to the classroom following concussions.
Prior to Earlham, Lemm was a member of the Rosemont College (Pennsylvania) staff, where she served as assistant director of athletics. During her tenure, she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of 13 varsity athletics programs as well as being the department's compliance officer.
Lemm spent two years as assistant director of athletics and senior woman administrator at Yeshiva University in New York City. She was responsible for supervision of seven varsity programs as well as overseeing NCAA and conference compliance, event management, scheduling, facilities and the student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) at Yeshiva.
Before arriving at Yeshiva, Lemm spent three years at Washtenaw Community College (Michigan) as the sports coordinator. She oversaw the intramural program has well as aiding in the addition of five new programs including a men's ice hockey team. Lemm was also Washtenaw's head women's soccer coach for the 2014 season.
A participant in a number of Division III initiatives, including Game Day the Division III Way, and the NCAA Inclusion Forum, Lemm also holds level one certification as a Civil Rights (Title IX) Investigator, while also being involved in Women Leaders in College Sports and a number of NCAA Regional Rules Seminars. She was the championship director for the NCAA Northeast Fencing Regional in 2016 and is a graduate of the NCAA Effective Facilitation Workshop and the NCAA/Women Leaders in College Sports Institute for Administrative Advancement.
Lemm earned both her Master of Arts in Sports Administration and her Bachelor of Applied Arts in Physical Education in Sport from Central Michigan University. During her collegiate career, she served as the president of the women's club soccer team, which included coaching, managing and administrating a team of 22 individuals and two coaches.
