WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has named Mount Holyoke's Jess Mohr as the NEWMAC SuperFan. The NEWMAC SuperFan initiative is supported by the NEWMAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the campus SAAC groups at the 11 member institutions. The goal of the honor is to promote good sportsmanship through the conference and recognize those who support their favorite teams and represent their institutions respectfully.

Mount Holyoke's Jess Mohr was voted the NEWMAC SuperFan, after earning the most votes in a poll on Twitter from April 2nd to April 4th between three outstanding nominees. Mohr was announced the winner at Sunday's NEWMAC SAAC meeting.

What they are saying at Mount Holyoke College...

"When I think of a supportive fan, the first person who comes to mind is Jess Mohr. She is the biggest supporter of MHC swim and dive. For each semester she's been at Mount Holyoke, she's been to every home meet and even some away meets. In December, Jess was diagnosed with leukemia, but she promised she'd live stream every meet and be there with us in spirit. Although she couldn't be here this semester, she still watches every meet online whether from home or from the hospital. At every meet she comes with her blue pom poms and cheers louder than anyone else in the crowd. She not only cheers for her roommate or close friends, but she learns everyone's name and is a supporter to all of us. She has an amazing energy that brings a smile to every single one of our faces. Both at meets, and everywhere around campus, Jess motivates us, is optimistic, and turns every day into a good one. Jess embodies what it means to be a SuperFan."
