Track & Field Solid at MIT Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - A number of solid efforts, including a win in the 60-meter dash by sophomore captain Camille Coklow, saw the Mount Holyoke College track & field team perform well at the 2014 Gordon Kelly Invitational at MIT on Saturday.

Coklow posted a season-best mark of 7.94 to outpace the field in the 60-meter dash. She also finished strong in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in a time of 27.43, good for fourth overall.

Senior Naomi Miller went on to place seventh in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:48.28, while junior Gretchen Rowe was ninth in the same event with a mark of 1:49.26.

In the distance events, sophomore Elizabeth DeLeon was fifth in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:12.83, while junior captain Dana Fry finished 10th in the 1 mile run with a time of 5:40.54.

The field events were paced by senior captain Kristina Weld, who recorded a season-best throw of 13.24 meters to finish eighth in the 20lb. weight throw. That mark was also a New England Division III Championship qualifying mark. Also performing well was junior Regina Crawford, who was 15th in the shot put with a distance of 10.30 meters.
