Soccer Team Claims NSCAA National Academic Honors

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Dec. 9, 2011) – NSCAA Logo The Mount Holyoke College soccer program was recently honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for its outstanding work in the classroom during the 2010-11 academic year. After posting a team grade point average of 3.37, the Lyons received the organization's Team Academic Award.

The award is handed out annually to teams who record composite grade point averages of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. This year, a total of 791 squads (571 women) from around the nation were honored. The group included teams from all three divisions of the NCAA, as well as junior colleges.

Mount Holyke closed out its season with an overall record of 5-11-0. The Lyons went 2-7-0 in league play.
