MHC Logo THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (0-0, 0-0 NEWMAC) will look to rebound in 2011 after a disappointing 1-14-1 finish last fall. Fifth year head coach Kanae Haneishi will once again count on Margaret Hanmer to provide her team with offensive firepower. The forward found the back of the net two times in 2010 to lead the way for the Lyons. Her first goal came in a 1-1 tie with longtime rival Smith College. She then scored what proved to be the winner in Mount Holyoke's 2-1 victory over the Coast Guard Academy. Hanmer will be joined up front by Courtney Carrier, who returns to the program after a one-year hiatus. Carrier collected a pair of goals during the 2009 campaign. Veteran Kiana Lussier is expected to see some time at the forward position after anchoring the team's defensive unit last fall. Meanwhile, Emily Shank will take over as Mount Holyoke's featured goalkeeper. Veronica Farmer and Caddy Tootell will serve as captains for the Lyons in 2011. Farmer dished out a team best two assists from the midfield last year, while Tootell was a mainstay in the team's defensive backfield.

Opponent Logo THE CHARGERS: Colby-Sawyer (2-2, 0-0 NAC) got its season started with a 2-0 victory over Worcester State University. After suffering a heartbreaking 2-1 setback to Rivier College in the opening round of their Labor Day Tournament last Saturday, the Chargers rebounded with a 2-1 triumph over Plymouth State University in the consolation match the following day. They were downed 4-1 by Norwich University in their most recent outing on Thursday. Forward Adrienne Bender has racked up three goals to set the tone for Colby-Sawyer. Fellow frontlinerLauren Bernard has scored twice, while defender Stephanie Huntley has delivered a pair of assists. Goalkeeper Shalyn Spencer has posted a goals against average of 1.95 for the Chargers.

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke will return to action on Wednesday, when it hosts Amherst College at 7:00 p.m. Meanwhile, Colby-Sawyer will open up its North Atlantic Conference slate at home against New England College on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
